Gulf Stream Fishing  from Hatteras, NC aboard Stormy Petrel II

Cost: $1495 for eight or fewer passengers; additional passengers are $100 each (ie. 9 passengers is $1595, 10 is $1695, etc.)  These trips are best limited to 12 passengers to ensure space and attention for each person aboard.  This fee does not include a tip for the crew, 15-20% is standard for a job well done.

Departure time is generally 5:30 to 6:30 AM depending on the time of year, but times can vary to accommodate your party's needs.  We usually return to the dock around 4:30 PM.

Target species: Dolphin (Mahi mahi), Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna and King Mackerel.  Bottom fish species are also a possibility and may include Gray Triggerfish, Black Sea Bass, Vermillion Snapper, and Blueline (Gray) Tilefish. Our catch might also include Barracuda, Greater Amberjack, Almaco Jack, Black, Red, Gag, and Scamp Groupers, and a variety of sharks and other fish.

On these trips it is sometimes possible to hook a Blue or White Marlin, or a Sailfish.

We use Penn International Reels and Shimano TLD (Triton Lever Drag) Reels with stand up rods.  A mixture of lures and natural bait (usually ballyhoo) are provided for use on these trips.  You are welcome to bring your own rod and reel and any bait you prefer, but our bait and tackle are designed to maximize your day on the water.

Fish cleaning is available on the premises at Hatteras Landing Marina for an additional fee.

Plan to bring enough food and drink for your day offshore (none will be available for purchase on the Stormy Petrel II), coolers are welcome.  Also, don't forget sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear (or extra clothes in case you get wet), and of course any needed medications.  Don't let seasickness ruin your trip;  take medication before the trip.  Please wear soft-soled shoes on the boat.
